This particular track is just difficult to classify.  The sweeping string arrangements have a classical feel, but the percussion is definitely more urban in nature.  The steady, simple piano arrangement is underscored by complex string passages.  The entire track is decorated with soft synth effects.  The song could be spun out to be a techno/trance track, softened to be an elegaic score in a sad movie scene, or amplified a bit for a more gothic presence.
